Calling the Handy Man

Switzerland, known for there chocolate and beautiful mountains. But what there also great for is there speedy handy-man services! So to explain what happened quickly, Christine and I (Christine is my boyfriends sister who came with me to Italy) we made a trip up to Switzerland for three days and two nights. Whats great about other countries Airbnb is that your host doesn't have to be there upon your arrival because they leave the key with the doorman and they type up the instructions on a piece of paper. We had this gorgeous balcony view of Lugano Lake which we sat outside pretty much the whole time. So my friend Christine decided she wanted to smoke one of her fancy Italian cigarettes she got from Rome. I just asked her to shut the door so we don't smell-up the apartment. As she did that she slammed the door harder than it had to be, the plastic-stick that the host put in the sliding door for extra safety fell back into the slot and we were stuck on the balcony. As we were so lucky to have my phone with me, me being the only one who had international calling I called the host (Who was away on holiday in Germany). She was so sorry about what happened and confused she asked her friend with another key to come get us. As her friend got there quickly, he unlocked the door, but couldn't get in. This was because Christine triple locked the door the night before and you can only unlock it from the inside when the door is completely shut. So now we panic.

My host calls again to explain the situation because no one in this tiny town of Lugano, Switzerland spoke English. She explained she needed to call the handy-man, so to an American that could take hours! We were starving, thirsty and now had to go to the bathroom. So we panic some more. I think it was a good 10-minutes went buy and we could hear the saw practically chopping down the door. "He's here, already?" We were more amazed at the fact he got there in 10-minutes! We finally got out safety and enjoyed our day we thought we'd miss. But just for the future, if your stuck in Switzerland and need to call a handy-man don' t worry, he'll be there soon.
